In a leaked recording, Biden's campaign manager says that the last few weeks "sucked"
Thursday evening's press conference where Joe Biden called Volodymyr Zelenskyj ”Putin” and Kamala Harris "Trump" was the final straw.
Now major Democratic sponsors are freezing promised donations of $90 million if Biden remains in the presidential race, the New York Times reports.
After the speech, three more Democratic members joined the growing crowd calling for Joe Biden to step aside.
“I have deep admiration and love for Joe Biden and all he has done for our country, which makes this decision painful. But my son and my constituents cannot be forced to endure the consequences of inaction in this critical situation,” writes Brittany Pettersen, who is the 18th Democrat to call on Biden to resign.
In a leaked recording obtained by Axios, Biden's campaign manager Jen O'Malley Dillon describes the chaos after the much-publicized debate against Trump two weeks ago to her employees.
- We have had two very, very, very difficult weeks, very bad weeks. It's been a bad fucking few weeks, she says and continues:
- This two-week window has really sucked and it's difficult, there's no doubt about that.
However, O'Malley Dillon does not want to count out Biden's chances of winning the presidential election.
- If we can get through these two weeks, we can get through anything.
