Kamala Harris says she's ready to take over the presidency.

In a statement, she announces her candidacy.

- We have 107 days until election day. Together we will fight and win.

Shortly after he announced that he dropped out of his presidential candidacy, Joe Biden  stood behind  Kamala Harris.

“My very first decision as the party's 2020 nominee was to choose Kamala Harris as my vice president. And it has been the best decision I have made. Today I want to offer my full support and my support for Kamala to be nominated for our party this year. Democrats — it's time to come together and beat Trump. Now we do it," he wrote. After that, a number of heavy-handed Democrats have stood behind the vice president.

Now she comments on the support herself.

"I am honored to have the president's support and my intentions are to deserve and win this nomination," she writes and continues:

"For the past year, I have traveled across the country and talked to Americans. And I will continue to do so in the coming days and weeks. I will do everything in my power to unite the Democratic Party and our nation – to defeat Donald Trump and his extreme Project 2025 agenda.”

Sources: The top candidates withdraw

According to CBS sources, California Governor Gavin Newsom and Michigan's ditto Gretchen Whitmer, who have been two of the top candidates for the presidency, will not challenge Harris.

Thus, it looks like Harris will be elected at the Democratic Party Convention in Chicago August 19-22.

"We have 107 days left until election day. Together we will fight and together we will win," she says.
