Measurement: Kamala Harris is a bigger threat to Trump
New polls indicate that Vice President Kamala Harris is perceived as a stronger challenger to Donald Trump than President Joe Biden, writes Reuters.
Among other things, a Reuters/Ipsos survey after last week's televised debate shows that support for Harris and Trump is basically the same - 42 percent support Harris and 43 percent support Trump.
At the same time, more and more Democrats are joining the crowd who want Biden to withdraw from the election and let someone else run for president. According to information to the New York Times, a meeting was held with several high-ranking Democrats this weekend, where they discussed how to use their influence to convince the president to throw in the towel.

Donald Trump softens abortion requirements in new election platform
Donald Trump has developed a new political platform with softer wording on issues such as abortion and same-sex marriage. The Washington Post reports.
According to a copy of the platform that the newspaper has seen, among other things, the demand for a national ban on abortion after 20 weeks has been removed. Such a requirement was included in Donald Trump's election platform from 2016, which was also used in 2020.
The new document instead states that it is up to each state to impose its own restrictions on abortion if it so wishes. The proposal was reportedly voted through by the Republican National Committee today.
