Nuclear deal with Iran
Expert: US bombers can pressure Iran into agreement – or war
The US has moved aircraft carriers and bombers to the Indian Ocean in what TT describes as an attempt to put pressure on Iran ahead of upcoming nuclear energy negotiations.
Alexander Atarodi, a Middle East expert and former employee at the Swedish Defence Research Institute, tells the news agency that it should be remembered that it is surprising that there are diplomatic contacts between the countries at all. However, he also believes that there are reasons to worry that it will all end in war if Trump does not get his way.
– It may happen that nothing substantial is achieved during the initial talks. Then his patience may run out because he wants results immediately, and then something else may happen, says Atarodi.

Trump's USA Greenland's future
Commander emailed criticism of Vance - gets fired
The US defense agency Pentagon fires Susannah Meyers, commander of the Pituffik Air Base in Greenland.
According to the independent website Military.com, Meyers is said to have sent an email to her staff in which she distanced herself from Vice President JD Vance's comments when he visited the island.
"The views that Vice President Vance expressed on Friday do not reflect Pituffik Air Base," Meyers wrote in her email.
The Pentagon has not given the reason for Meyers' firing but writes that "actions that undermine the chain of command or President Trump's agenda will not be tolerated."
