Greenland Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen has met with US envoy Jeff Landry in a "good tone". At the same time, Greenland points out that the US goal of controlling the island has not changed.

- We emphasized the line that we have held since the beginning. We said that Greenland and Greenlandic society must be respected, Nielsen said at a press conference in Nuuk on Monday.

In addition to Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry, he met with the US ambassador to Denmark, Ken Howery.

- We have our red line. The Americans' starting point has not changed either, said Greenland's Foreign Minister, Múte Bourup Egede, who also attended.

Landry's visit is his first since President Donald Trump appointed him as special envoy, after Trump in January backed down on his repeated threats to take over the island.
