Russia: Nuclear weapons exercise for three days

Russia will begin a three-day military exercise on Tuesday.

More than 65,000 soldiers from across the country are participating, according to the Defense Ministry.

Around 7,800 types of equipment and weapons will be used during the exercise, which includes aircraft, ships, conventional submarines and nuclear-powered submarines.

Ballistic missiles and cruise missiles will be tested, according to the data.

“From May 19 to 21, 2026, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will conduct an exercise in the preparation and use of nuclear weapons in the event of a threat of aggression,” the Defense Ministry said.

The announcement comes as Ukraine has escalated drone attacks against Russia.
