Leavitt sees everyone under 30 as “lazy and comfortable”
Young voters are moving to the left.
Donald Trump’s press secretary sees a reason.
– They are lazy, says Karoline Leavitt.
The statement about Generation Z, young people and young adults born between 1997 and 2012, came during an interview with Fox News.
Together with host Jesse Watters, Leavitt discussed the fact that left-leaning candidates within the Democrats recently won a number of primaries in New York.
Lazy and comfortable
Young voters in particular have turned to candidates who belong to a faction within the Democrats that calls itself “democratic socialists.”
This prompted Donald Trump to threaten that “godless communists” could take power in Congress in November.
Watters asked Leavitt if complaining about the cost of things has had an impact among young people.
She agrees and says that her generation is lazy and comfortable.
– Unfortunately, I do, because this generation, my generation, I hate to say it, Gen Z and those younger than me have been raised with a silver spoon in their mouths and given everything for free, Karoline Leavitt, 28, tells Fox News according to Newsweek.
”Send them to Iran”
– Those are not the values that built this country. It is built on meritocracy and hard work.
She is also asked if the problem with her generation is laziness.
– It is laziness and liberal indoctrination, Leavitt replies.
Trump’s press secretary also says in the interview that young people who do not behave “should be sent to Cuba or Iran”.
– Then they would want to come back quickly, she says.
Took a week off
Leavitt herself recently returned to the White House seven weeks after giving birth to her second child in May.
Her first parental leave ended after a week when Donald Trump was shot during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania in July 2024.
