Indirect talks to be held with Iran and the US on Wednesday
On Wednesday, the US and Iran will hold indirect talks with each other during the ongoing peace talks in Doha. This is stated by a diplomatic source for AFP, who says that the negotiations are being held with the help of Qatari and Pakistani mediators.
The talks are described as technical and will not take place at the highest level. For example, White House special envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff will not participate. On Tuesday, they met with Qatar's Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.
Earlier in the day, several media outlets reported that Iran will negotiate with Qatar. During the latest round of peace talks to end the war in Iran, the countries have not yet held any direct talks.

Report: Trump Considers Large-Scale Attack – But Opts for Diplomacy
In
recent days, Donald Trump has held talks with his staff about carrying
out new military strikes on Iran. This is reported by several White
House sources to The Wall Street Journal.
The president has
reportedly spoken with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Defense Chief
Dan Caine about resuming full-scale war to break the deadlock in peace
talks. According to the sources, Trump has decided to continue on the
diplomatic track and has also given the go-ahead to postpone the
deadline for a nuclear arms agreement. Previously, the US has given Iran
until August 18 to sign one.
Over the past 24 hours, White House
peace envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner have been in Qatar to
negotiate a final agreement. Indirect talks have been held with Iran
through Qatari mediators. On the surface, the negotiations are described
as successful for the Americans, but according to reports, the countries have reached a deadlock on several points.
