Monaco bomber hunted in Europe – woman on the run
The Monaco bomber is being hunted by the police.
She is suspected of having injured a man, a child and blown off a woman’s legs.
Now she has dressed up – as a man.
On Monday evening, a bag was placed at the entrance to a residential building.
The suspect had been spying on Ukrainian oligarch Vadym Yermolajev and his family for several days.
At 9 p.m., she begins following them in the Place des Moulins area. There, she walks 10 meters ahead of them and places the bag against the family’s residential building.
Surveillance camera footage shows the woman wearing a large black hat, a black vest, white pants and white sneakers, Le Figaro reports.
She then rushes away – and waits until the family has reached the door. Then she remotely detonates the bomb, according to information to BFMTV.
13-year-old boy injured
A man and a woman were seriously injured in the explosion. The woman is named Anna Nasobina and is Vadym Yermolayev's wife.
She had both her legs blown off in the explosion, according to the channel. Her condition is described as critical.
A 13-year-old boy is also slightly injured.
Woman in her 30s
Vadym Yermolayev is Ukraine's 45th richest person. Police have not yet confirmed a motive for the attack.
But sources tell the channel that two main leads are being investigated: organized crime or foreign actors.
The suspect is neither in Monaco nor in France, according to information provided to the channel. But the police suspect that she has fled to a country in Europe.
The Monegasque judiciary has therefore requested international assistance in the investigation.
“Disguising herself as a man”
“This individual is probably trying to disguise herself as a man,” the police write in a document seen by BFMTV.
According to Le Figaro, the suspect is in her 30s. She is from Ukraine and has lived in Germany for some time.
She has been identified by the police and is wanted internationally, according to Monaco-Matin.
