A detailed computer model of the Earth that has been put into orbit on Monday will help humanity to predict and prevent climate-related disasters, AFP reports.

Earth's digital "twin" will monitor climate change. The model must propose and predict the effects of various measures to support, for example, local politicians and supranational bodies such as the EU. It must also warn of social and economic crises as a result of climate disasters. In this way, the leaders "cannot escape their responsibility to act", according to Vestager.
