Sunak could be out of a job – Tories stunned by measurement
The Conservative Party in Great Britain is headed for a rarely seen election loss. Rishi Sunak is not only at risk of being replaced as Prime Minister, he is also at risk of becoming the first Prime Minister in history to lose his seat in Parliament. It showed a heavy opinion poll on Wednesday evening.
"The Tories are on the brink of extinction," writes the Daily Telegraph, which is the newspaper that commissioned the survey.
Despite opinion polls consistently showing large losses for the Tory Party, the party leaders find it difficult to believe them. A minister tells The Times that the figures do not reflect the election workers' experience of the situation in the country.
- Some of these forecasts are worse than our worst nightmares.

British Chancellor of the Exchequer: "We have been damaged by Truss"
British Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt believes that the Tory Party has been damaged by the actions of former Prime Minister Liz Truss. He says this in an interview with the Financial Times before the country goes to the polls again in early July.
Hunt believes that Truss's policy was a "very unfortunate period" for the British, but that the economic problems she caused were quickly rectified.
- The political trust is probably more damaged than the economic one, says the conservative minister.
Truss, who was in power for 49 days, presented a mini-budget that nearly crashed the UK economy in autumn 2022.
