Vomiting in Finnish Parliament - 90 people infected

A total of 90 people in the Finnish Parliament have contracted winter vomiting disease, reports Helsingin Sanomat.

An investigation has been launched into whether the infection can be traced to the same restaurant, but the inspection did not point to any direct links.

Everyone who can be asked to work from home due to the wave of illness.

Plane caught fire - passengers forced out onto the wing

Dramatic scenes unfolded at Denver International Airport in the United States when a Boeing 737-800 passenger plane caught fire on Thursday, reports ABC News.

The plane had taken off from Colorado Springs, but was forced to make an emergency landing in Denver 20 minutes later. When it was on its way to its gate, an engine caught fire.

Some of the 178 people on board were forced out onto the wing to escape the flames and smoke. All survived, but twelve were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Eight-year-old dies after rape - protests in Bangladesh

An eight-year-old girl who was raped in Bangladesh died from her injuries on Thursday, and major protests have broken out around the country, the BBC reports.

After news of the girl's death, an angry mob set fire to the house where the assault allegedly took place.

Many protesters are demanding that the government speed up justice for rape victims and reform laws related to the safety of women and children. Protesters are also calling for greater clarity around the legal definitions of what constitutes rape in Bangladesh.

Holi and Ramadan meet in Pakistan

Discrimination against minorities runs deep in Muslim-majority Pakistan, but these tensions do not exist in Mithi. All traditions and rituals are celebrated together in the town, according to Raj Kumar, a 30-year-old Hindu businessman.
