Task: Russia Helps Iran with Drone Tactics
Russia is helping Iran with advanced drone warfare tactics, a Western intelligence source told CNN.
– What was previously more general support is now becoming more worrisome, such as the attack strategies Russia has used in Ukraine, the source said.
Shahed drones, which were designed in Iran but are now mass-produced in Russia, have been unexpectedly successful in penetrating the air defenses of several Gulf states.
It is unclear exactly what tactics Russia has taught Iran, but in Ukraine the Russian army usually uses Shahed drones in large waves that often change course to fool air defenses.
Ukrainian President Zelensky says that Russia has begun supplying Iran with drones, and that Ukraine has sent experts to the Gulf to help them with air defenses.
Trump: War will end soon – almost nothing left
The war in Iran will end “soon” because there are “virtually no targets left”, Donald Trump tells Axios.
– It will end when I want it to, the president says in a short telephone interview.
Iranian and American representatives state at the same time that they have not received any internal directives on when it might be time to stop the attacks.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said earlier on Wednesday that the war will continue “indefinitely, as long as necessary”.
NEWS: US responsible for school attack in Iran
The US is responsible for the attack on a school in southern Iran that killed at least 150 students, a preliminary military investigation shows according to the New York Times.
According to information provided to the newspaper, the military used old data when entering the coordinates for the attack.
The goal was to strike an Iranian base that the school building had previously been part of.
The sources say the investigation is still in its early stages and that there are many questions that remain to be answered, including why old data was used when entering the coordinates.
US warning to Iranians: Avoid port areas
The US is urging Iranians to stay away from ports along the Strait of Hormuz, reports Sky News.
The US Central Command states that Iranian warships are in civilian ports, which makes the ports legitimate targets in the war.
“This dangerous maneuver puts the lives of innocent people at risk. Civilian ports used for military purposes lose their protected status and become legitimate targets,” it writes in a statement.
