Reports: US asks Israel to stop attacking energy sector
The US has asked Israel to stop attacking Iranian energy facilities, according to information provided to Axios.
The message was reportedly conveyed on Monday and mainly concerns oil facilities, according to the informants.
The US is said to have presented three reasons why Israel should stop the attacks.
Firstly, the attacks are considered to be hitting the Iranian civilian population. Secondly, Donald Trump wants to be able to cooperate with Iran's oil sector in the long term, in a similar way to Venezuela. Thirdly, there is concern that the attacks could trigger retaliatory attacks on energy facilities in the Gulf countries.
On the night of March 8, Israel carried out extensive attacks on oil facilities in Tehran. Residents say that a smog has settled over the city as a result and experts warn that the pollution after the attacks could be unprecedented, writes the BBC.
Sources: Up to 150 Americans have been injured in the war
Since the war with Iran began, as many as 150 American soldiers may have been injured, according to information to Reuters. This is a sharp difference compared to the official figure of eight seriously injured, the news agency writes.
The Pentagon has not wanted to comment on the information.
Seven American soldiers have so far been confirmed dead in the war.
Information: Saudi Arabia buys Ukrainian air defense
Saudi Arabian arms companies have signed a deal to buy Ukrainian air defense drones, according to information to the Kyiv Independent.
According to the informant, Saudi Arabia and Ukraine have also negotiated a separate and “huge deal” for arms purchases that could be finalized as early as this week.
Since the war with Iran began on February 28, information has been circulating that the Gulf states and the United States have turned their attention to Ukraine for anti-drone technology. This is to combat the Iranian Shahed drones that have been fired at several countries around the Persian Gulf in retaliation.
Ukrainian arms exports during the war have been tightly controlled, writes the Kyiv Independent, as the government has worried that anti-drone technology will end up in the wrong hands.
