Five found alive in flooded cave

Five of seven people trapped in a cave in Laos have been found alive, rescue workers say.

The five are said to be in good health. A video published by a Thai rescue team shows divers discovering the group on a rock surrounded by water.

– I'm still shaking. Our team succeeded, says rescue worker Bounkham Luanglath in a voice message to the AP news agency.

The group has been stuck in the flooded cave for more than a week. They entered the cave system to search for gold, but got stuck when sudden torrential rains flooded the cave entrance.

The search for the other two continues.
