Middle East Crisis Peace Talks

Iran has responded to US demands – wants compensation

Iran has once again responded to the latest US demands in the peace talks, the Iranian Foreign Ministry said. The country's counter-demands include that the US lift the far-reaching sanctions against Iran and that frozen Iranian assets abroad be released, according to AFP.

- As we announced yesterday, our concerns have been conveyed to the American side, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei at a press conference.

Baghaei also emphasized the demand for war reparations for the reconstruction of what was destroyed during the war, which has been ongoing since February 28.

On Sunday, the US is said to have submitted a five-point list of new proposals to Iran, which Iranian media described as "exaggerated".

Trump: Planned Attack on Iran Tomorrow Canceled

Donald Trump has canceled a planned military attack on Iran tomorrow at the request of Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, he writes on Truth Social.

“This is because serious negotiations are now underway, and in their opinion [...] it will be a deal that is very acceptable to the United States, all countries in the Middle East and beyond.”

This deal will, among other things, mean “no nuclear weapons for Iran,” according to Trump.

The president also writes that the US military is ready to launch a full-scale military attack on Iran at any time if no agreement is reached.
