Five killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza

Five Palestinians, four of them women, were killed in an Israeli airstrike on an apartment in Gaza City overnight into Saturday, according to health authorities.

According to Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City—which received five bodies and a number of injured people at dawn—the deceased were two women and their daughters, as well as a young man.

The Israeli military targeted Ali al-Amoudi, a senior Hamas official, Israeli media report. The military has not yet commented on the incident.

Israeli forces have killed more than 1,440 people in the Gaza Strip since the ceasefire began last October, according to the Gaza Health Department; the department is led by Hamas, and its figures are considered reliable by the UN.
