Several missiles and drones struck Moldova
Five Russian missiles and drones struck Moldovan territory during attacks on Ukraine overnight into Saturday, Moldovan President Maia Sandu wrote on X.
"The war is dangerously close to Moldova. Five Russian aerial weapons, including missiles and drones, have violated our airspace and exploded on our territory," Sandu wrote.
The pro-EU president added that Moscow is endangering lives across Europe and must be stopped.
"I condemn Russia's attack on Ukraine this morning."
Moldova has faced a significant increase in airspace violations. Dozens have occurred this year, forcing repeated closures of the airspace, according to the government.
On Saturday, Moldova summoned the Russian ambassador over the incident—the second time in just a few days.
