Lebanon: Twelve Dead in Attack on Healthcare Facility
Twelve people have been killed in an Israeli attack on a healthcare facility in southern Lebanon, the country's health ministry said according to AFP.
The twelve people were reportedly doctors, paramedics and nurses, according to the ministry's statement. Another healthcare worker was reportedly injured.
Earlier in the day, two paramedics with links to Hezbollah were killed in another attack on southern Lebanon.
Israel: Lebanon Will Pay "Rising Price"
Lebanon will have to pay a "rising price" in damage to the country's infrastructure, says Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz according to AFP.
The statement comes after Israel destroyed a bridge over the Litani River. This is the first time Israel has admitted to attacking Lebanese infrastructure.
Katz also said Lebanon will lose territory until the country “fulfills its commitment to disarm Hezbollah.”
The latest fighting between Israel and the Iranian-backed Shiite militia Hezbollah flared up last week. Hezbollah then attacked Israel in retaliation for the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
The UN has urged both Israel and Hezbollah to stop the war.
