Poland: "Waiting for conciliatory moves from Ukraine"
It is up to Ukraine to start untying the diplomatic knots with Poland, says Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk according to Kyiv Post.
Poland has been outraged by Ukraine’s decision to name a military unit after the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA), which massacred Poles during World War II. Zelensky has had his Order of the White Eagle, Poland’s highest decoration, revoked as a result of the decision.
Ukraine has sent Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha to Warsaw with an “anti-crisis package”, and former President Viktor Yushchenko has sent a conciliatory letter.
At a press conference, Tusk mentions, among other things, the “very sincere” letter from Yushchenko, but adds:
“We expect Ukraine to take the first step after this unfortunate decision by President Zelensky. It would be good to get a very clear signal from Kyiv,” Tusk said at a press conference.

Hamas, Hezbollah Show Up at Khamenei's Funeral
Representatives of the Iran-backed, terror-designated militias Hezbollah and Hamas attended the state funeral of Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, AFP reports.
Hezbollah's delegation was led by former minister Mohammed Fneish and included families of slain members, the Lebanese media group reported.
Hamas was represented by political leader Mohammed Darwish and other members of the political wing, including Bassem Naim, according to a statement.
Iran has supported Hezbollah, Hamas and the Houthi rebels in Yemen for years. In July 2024, Hamas's then-political leader Ismail Haniyeh was killed in an Israeli strike in Tehran, where he was visiting during the inauguration of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

The change of power in Hungary
Hungarian president one step closer to being removed
Péter Magyar’s Hungarian government has submitted a proposal for a constitutional amendment to remove Orbán-loyal President Tamás Sulyok, Bloomberg reports.
The proposal is guaranteed to be approved because Magyar’s Tisza party has the required two-thirds supermajority in parliament.
“Hungary’s reconstruction cannot begin if the highest head of state is the same person who helped destroy the Hungarian republic and praised the government that dismantled the rule of law,” Magyar says.
Sulyok, who has served less than three years of his five-year term, has refused to heed Magyar’s calls to resign voluntarily.
After Sulyok’s removal, a new president will be elected this summer.
