Political situation in Venezuela
Energy giants commit to investing in Venezuela

American Chevron, Italian Eni and several other international energy companies have committed to contributing to the expansion of Venezuela's oil industry, several media outlets report.

The news was presented at a ceremony in Caracas today, attended by, among others, Venezuela's interim president Delcy Rodriguez and US Secretary of Energy Chris Wright.

These agreements are not part of the agreement between the US and Venezuela that was announced earlier this week. That agreement gives the US access to 17 oil fields.

The price of gold
The Netherlands has moved 86 tons of gold from North America

The Dutch central bank has moved parts of its gold reserve from New York and Ottawa to London. Gold worth 12 billion dollars has been moved. This is reported by Bloomberg.

Between March and August, the central bank sold around 59 tons of gold in New York and bought the same amount in London. In addition, just over 27 tons of gold were moved across the Atlantic. Around a third of the Dutch gold reserve is now in London.

The central bank cites the increasing geopolitical unrest in the world as the reason behind the move.

Swedish Saab has climbed to 20th place among the world's largest defense companies, on the Defense News list. This is reported by the news agency Direkt.

The company's press officer Mattias Rådström says that the company is pleased with the climb, which also places Saab as Europe's sixth largest.

- This is clear evidence of our continued growth and strong market position, he tells Direkt.

Saab's full-year sales rose to 79 billion kronor in 2025, from just under 64 billion the year before.

The development of the Swedish krona
Norwegian shopping pleasure – the Swedish krona cheaper

The Swedish krona has not been so cheap for Norwegians since 2023, the Norwegian public service company NRK states.

In the morning, 100 Swedish kronor cost 96.83 Norwegian kronor.

It is mainly the unrest in the Middle East and the rising oil price that have strengthened the Norwegian kronor against other currencies, an expert tells NRK.
