Strong criticism of changed election laws in Nicaragua

Nicaragua's Congress has adopted a package of laws that aims to limit the opposition's participation in elections, writes TT. The proposal is being pushed through after demands from the country's long-time president Daniel Ortega, 80, who has ruled the country together with his wife Rosario Murillo in turns since 1979.

The initiative has prompted US Secretary of State Marco Rubio to react. On Wednesday, he urged allies to stop trading with Nicaragua.

Both the national and military intelligence services in Denmark are sounding the alarm about advanced sabotage plans from Russia in our western neighbor, writes Berlingske.

According to the authorities, Russia has been spying on a number of important Danish activities for a long time, with links to the country's arms support for Ukraine. The spying tasks have been carried out by ordinary Danish citizens who were recruited online to take pictures or video of sensitive facilities.

- This is not a warning that this might come to Denmark one day. We are already seeing the planning now, very concretely, says Emil Græsholm, head of counterintelligence at PET, Denmark's equivalent of Säpo.

According to Græsholm, the authorities do not yet know what Russia might do with the information, but in light of what has happened in similar acts in Italy and Bulgaria, he mentions arson as a possible possibility.

Ukraine and Germany agree on drone agreement

Ukraine and Germany have agreed on a new drone agreement. This is what President Volodymyr Zelenskyj said after a conversation with Chancellor Friedrich Merz, writes Reuters.
