Republican: "Almost impossible for us to win"
Thom Tillis, a Republican senator from North Carolina, is not optimistic about the midterm elections, reports *The Hill*.
"I think it is basically statistically impossible for us to win the House," he says on the MSNBC program *The Beat*.
He still believes his party will manage to retain its majority in the Senate, albeit by a narrow margin.
According to polls, the Democrats are the clear favorites to win the House of Representatives, but the race for the Senate appears closer.
New historic low for Trump in poll
Support for Donald Trump has dropped to a record low of 32 percent in the latest Reuters/Ipsos poll.
Latino voters, in particular, have begun to abandon the president—a trend also recently shown in two other polls by NBC News/Telemundo and CBS News/YouGov. Their strong support for him was a key factor in his 2024 election victory.
Only 24 percent of Latino voters have confidence in Trump, the lowest figure recorded during either of his two terms in office.
