It is also reported that six foreign UN employees have been seriously injured in an Israeli attack on their headquarters. This information also comes from the area's health authorities, who say that the six were taken to the al-Aqsa hospital in Dayr al-Balah and that one of them later died. Israel denies attacking UN targets.
"Just the beginning"
The previous night, more than 400 people were killed. And Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned that the first waves of attacks are "just the beginning."
At the same time, it has been unclear whether the ceasefire is definitely dead. It began on January 19, and was initially supposed to last six weeks. But because they then failed to agree on a second, more in-depth phase, the conditions of the first phase continued to apply for a few more weeks - until Israel began attacking again on Tuesday night.
Not closed the door
After the second wave of attacks on Wednesday night, a representative of the terrorist Hamas says that they are happy to stick to the original agreement after all.
– Hamas has not closed the door to negotiations, but we insist that no new agreements are needed, spokesman Tahir al-Nunu told AFP.
The Gaza war began with Hamas' large-scale attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.
