Six Dead in Israeli Strikes – Nine-Year-Old Among Victims
At least six people were killed in Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip on Sunday, including a nine-year-old girl, Reuters reports.
According
to the Hamas-run health authority, the girl, named Tala Abu Matar, was
killed by Israeli fire in the al-Bureij tent camp in central Gaza. The
Israeli military says it is not aware of the incident.
Four
people were killed when rockets hit a foundry in Gaza City. The Israeli
military claims to have struck one of Hamas' weapons factories.
More than 1,000 people have been killed in Gaza since the ceasefire came into effect in October last year.
UN summit: Hamas is sabotaging vital aid to Gaza
Hamas
terrorists are obstructing humanitarian aid in Gaza and intimidating
aid workers in the area. This is what UN chief Ramiz Alakbarov said in a
statement. The UN condemns the terrorist movement's actions, which it
says are endangering vital aid efforts in the area.
On Saturday,
armed men linked to Hamas forced their way into a food distribution site
in Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip, AFP reports. Hamas members also
entered a UN warehouse and beat up two truck drivers delivering
humanitarian aid. These are not isolated incidents, Alakbarov says.
"This reflects an increasingly dangerous pattern of threats, violence and obstruction," the UN chief says.
Hamas still controls parts of Gaza.
