Amnesty: Investigate Israel for War Crimes in Lebanon

Amnesty International has analyzed three attacks that Israel carried out on civilian homes in Lebanon during a week in March. A total of 24 civilians were “wiped out”, half of whom were children, the organization writes in a press release and demands an investigation into war crimes.

Kristine Beckerle, deputy regional director for the Middle East and North Africa, condemns the attacks.

– How many more families will have to pull their children’s body parts from the rubble before this devastating spiral of war crimes comes to an end?

On Thursday, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said that they had succeeded in crushing most of Hezbollah’s leadership. According to AFP, it is unclear whether Katz’s statement was a comment on Amnesty’s report.

Trump's "peace council" wants zone for civilians that have been vetted

Donald Trump's so-called peace council plans to establish a "humanitarian zone" in southern Gaza, Reuters reports.

The pilot project near Rafah will be able to receive tens of thousands of Palestinians who have undergone "vetting", an anonymous representative of the council said. The zone will be guarded by a newly formed International Stabilization Force (ISF).

Several diplomats and aid organizations warn that placing civilians in guarded, controlled zones could amount to forced displacement, writes TT.

Driving emergency aid to Gaza – shot by Israeli military

Palestinian truck driver Ahmad Esleem was killed by Israeli military in southern Gaza on Wednesday, TheGuardian reports.

Esleem was transporting food for the organization World Central Kitchen. He was reportedly part of an emergency convoy that was forced to stop after a truck stalled.

Witnesses say Esleem was ordered out of the truck and shot in the head as he stood with his arms in the air.

According to the Israeli military's IDF description, soldiers opened fire after perceiving a threat. Both witnesses and a local transport association describe the shooting as an "execution."
