Middle East Crisis Iran War

Araghchi in Oman: “We have kept our word”

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi landed in Oman on Saturday morning where he is in place to discuss the Hormuz crisis, news agencies report. The US has demanded that Iran officially announce that the strait is open to traffic – and set a deadline for today's meeting between the foreign ministers of Iran and Oman.

In what appears to be a response to the demand, Araghchi writes on X that Iran “has kept its word so far” and followed the declaration of intent with the US. He further writes that it is the US that has violated point nine of the agreement, that is, not to deploy more forces in the Persian Gulf, writes TT.

Trump claims US has revenge plan if Iran assassinates him: “Bomb them”

Donald Trump has given instructions on how the US military should act if he is assassinated. The US president claims this in an interview with the New York Post.

On Friday, both the Wall Street Journal and CNN published intelligence reports indicating that Iran has considered an assassination plot against Trump. The president does not want to comment on the new information but claims that he has given “instructions in case something happens”.

– Literally bomb them at levels they have never seen before, says Trump.

He also writes that 1,000 missiles are aimed at Iran, ready to be fired on the military’s orders.

Trump’s words come at a time when Iran and the US are accusing each other of violating the agreement during the fragile ceasefire.

US Demands on Iran: Announce that the Strait is Open – Otherwise, Things Will Go Bad

The US is demanding that Iran make an official statement that the Strait of Hormuz is open, duty-free and that no more ships will be fired on. This is what a group of high-ranking government sources told several media outlets.

– They either give us that statement or things will go bad for them, says one of them.

The US expects the statement after the foreign ministers of Iran and Oman meet in Oman on Saturday, according to the sources. They are also demanding that Iran hand over the enriched uranium buried under the bombed facility in Isfahan.

According to the sources, an internal power struggle is currently taking place between more hard-line and more pragmatic figures in Iran, which is making it more difficult to reach an agreement.
