Iran: No planned talks with the US
Despite growing concerns that the war might resume, there are no plans for new talks between Tehran and Washington, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has announced.
“At present, there are no planned meetings with American representatives, and any speculation to the contrary is merely a media fabrication,” Araghchi said in an interview with the Qatar-based outlet Al Jazeera, adding that Iran sees no reason for new talks “under the current circumstances.”
The Foreign Minister confirmed that a letter had been received from US Vice President-elect JD Vance and that its contents had been discussed during high-level meetings.
“If Washington’s goal with the message was to sow division, it would mark yet another misstep,” Araghchi said—though he nonetheless welcomed Washington’s efforts to open a dialogue.
