Norwegian "shithouse" campaign goes viral following Trump’s remarks
Norway is responding to US President Donald Trump’s characterization of the country as a “shithouse country” by promoting its public restrooms on social media.
“We heard talk of a certain ‘shithouse country’... What can we say? We have some of the world’s most beautiful and spectacular restrooms,” Visit Norway wrote in a social media post accompanying a series of images of public toilets located along Norwegian tourist routes. The post has been shared, liked, and commented on thousands of times.
Earlier this week, the US President once again expressed his disappointment at not having been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize—by labeling Norway a “shithouse country.”
“Norway has become a shithouse country,” Trump said.
During his second term in the White House, the President has made no secret of his desire to receive the prize.
