China stops imports of Japanese fish after Fukushima spills 

 

China stops all imports of fish and shellfish from Japan, since the neighboring country has now started the discharge of purified radioactive cooling and rainwater from Fukushima into the Pacific Ocean. This is reported by Nikkei Asia.  

 

According to China's customs authority, the import stop is being made to "protect the health of Chinese consumers", even though both the Japanese government and the international atomic energy agency IAEA have assessed that the release will not have any negative effects for more men. or nature.  

 

Beijing previously criticized Japan for the decision to release the water, calling it "selfish and irresponsible". Even Japanese fishermen will be outraged by the decision and warned that it could hit the fishing trade.

Japan demands that China lift the seafood import ban

China stopped all imports of fish and shellfish from Japan on Thursday, after the country - as previously announced - began releasing purified radioactive cooling and rainwater from Fukushima into the Pacific Ocean.
