Putin breaks the silence - first words about Prigozhin: "A talented man"
Vladimir Putin sends condolences to Yevgeny Prigozhin's family, according to Reuters. These are his first comments after the Wagner leader's death.
- I knew Prigozhin for a very long time, since the beginning of the 1990s. He was a complicated man and made serious mistakes in his life but achieved the right results, he said in a television feature.
The Russian president does not comment further on what may have caused the crash, but wants to wait until investigators have completed their investigation.

Kremlin sources: Knew it would end badly - Moscow does not forgive
The death of Wagnerian conductor Yevgeny Prigozhin comes as no surprise to Kremlin sources spoken to by the independent Russian news site Meduza. After the armed uprising in June, Prigozhin was no longer considered a "reliable and manageable person," says one of them.
- I had a feeling after the mutiny that he would meet a bad end. (The Kremlin) does not condone such things, said a person said to be close to President Vladimir Putin's administration.
Other sources close to the Kremlin tell Meduza that they do not rule out that Prigozhin is still alive.
- He is a trickster, a troll. He has informants at all levels, so we have to wait, says one person.
Russia has still not commented on the crash.
