Idalia wreaks havoc in the US – 900 flights cancelled
Hurricane Idalia hit Florida and Georgia hard on Wednesday, AP reports.
The hurricane flooded homes, turned streets into rivers and overturned cars in areas never before affected by hurricanes in the US Gulf Coast of Florida. Idalia maintained its strength of 155 kilometers per hour as it slammed into Georgia and more than 263,000 customers were without power after power lines were brought down along the coast on Wednesday.
Air traffic has also been affected by Idalia. So far, 900 flights have been canceled and according to the US Federal Aviation Administration, the FAA, the hurricane could have widespread effects on air travel as the last major holiday of the summer approaches.

Idalia could be a blow to Florida, where several areas are still dealing with damage from last year's Hurricane Ian.
