With just days left until the presidential election, a new shock poll has arrived.

According to opinion polls, Kamala Harris is leading in Iowa – a state that Trump won in the last two elections.

"No one can say they saw this coming," said J. Ann Selzer, whose company conducted the survey.

The American election is approaching the final sprint and both presidential candidates are out campaigning into the final stretch.

During the day, an opinion poll from Focaldata, a British company, showed that Kamala Harris will win the election.

The survey is done with a new method, called MRP, which some say is more accurate compared to methods already used to measure public opinion in the United States.

According to Focaldata, Harris will likely take Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

Trump will take Georgia and North Carolina.

- Our MRP model has shown a Trump win throughout the campaign and only in the final update has it supported the Democrats, says James Kanagasooriam, Focaldata's head of research.

Leading in the Trump State

Presidential candidate Kamala Harris also leads in Iowa according to the latest and last opinion poll before, writes CNN.

Harris has 47 percent of the vote, compared to Trump's 44 percent — something that surprised many experts, as Trump won the state in both the 2016 and 2020 elections.

- No one can say they saw this coming, says J. Ann Selzer, whose company Selzer & Co. conducted the survey.

The numbers are within the margin of error, which otherwise indicates that it is very even between the candidates.

The earlier poll showed 47 percent support for Trump and 43 percent for Harris.

Campaigns in key states

But how the final votes will fall remains to be seen. During the day, Kamala Harris visits the state of Michigan – a state that the Democrats have historically won, but which Trump won in 2016.

A voter group that has become important this year is the Arab-Americans. Traditionally, the group has voted for the Democrats, but because of the party's handling of the war in Gaza, many are critical.

Trump will visit Pennsylvania, Georgia and North Carolina on Sunday.

Pennsylvania is said to be the most important swing state as it has the most electoral votes.
