The Middle East crisis Israel-Iran

Ayatollah: "Crushing response" awaits Israel

Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, threatens Israel and the United States after the robot attack on Iran last weekend. He calls both the US and Israel the "enemy" and says that the countries will face "a crushing response to what they are doing to Iran and the Iranian nation", AP reports.

His statement comes in a video published in the country's state-controlled media. The ayatollah did not give details on when a revenge attack might be carried out.

After Israel's drone attack, which was in response to an Iranian strike on October 1, Khamenei, 85, said the Israeli attack "should neither be exaggerated nor downplayed."

According to Israeli sources, an Iranian attack could happen before the US presidential election in a few days, according to Axios.

Source: Iran will attack Israel in the coming days

Israeli intelligence indicates that Iran is preparing an attack on Israel in the coming days, a source close to the Israeli leadership told the Washington Post. The type of attack is not clear.

On Thursday, several Israeli sources told Axios that Iran is planning an attack with drones and ballistic missiles, and that it could happen before the US election on Tuesday.

Earlier on Saturday, Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, threatened a "crushing response" to Israel's airstrikes on Iran last weekend.

During the day, Israel raised the threat level to the highest possible in the lower Galilee and the southern Golan Heights in the northern parts of the country, reports Reuters.
