The election in the USA

Historically large gender gap - which both hope to win from

The gender gap when it comes to which presidential candidate to vote for is huge in this year's presidential election. In the last pre-election poll from NBC News, 40 percent of men say they support Harris, while 58 percent support Trump.

The corresponding figures for women are 57 percent for Harris and 41 percent for Trump.

The total difference thus becomes a gap of a whopping 34 percentage points, writes NBC News.

Even NPR's measurement shows big differences. The site writes that the gender gap may be historically large, but notes that there are nuances if you zoom in on education and ethnicity.

The Washington Post writes that each candidate hopes to take advantage of the gender gap - Harris by focusing on abortion rights, Trump by playing on combativeness and masculinity.

Even measurements puzzle: "They should vary more"

It is completely even in the opinion polls ahead of the US election, which puzzles the political scientist Henrik Ekengren Oscarsson.

- Actually, the measurements should differ more. They are almost suspiciously close, he says in SVT's Agenda.

Ekengren Oscarsson says that the measurements do not vary as much as they should considering how many are actually made.

He states that right now it is not possible to predict a winner, but adds that Donald Trump has a "huge advantage" because he has higher confidence in the important election issue of the economy.
