Top Norwegian diplomat resigns as CEO after Epstein connection
Former Norwegian foreign minister and top diplomat Børge Brende is resigning as CEO of the World Economic Forum after his connections to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein were revealed. Reuters reports.
– I believe that now is the right time for the forum to continue with its important work without distractions, Brende said in a statement.
The statement does not mention Epstein.
The published Epstein documents contain over 120 emails and text messages between the two men. Among other things, Brende says that he misses Epstein, and calls him “my friend”.

Hillary Clinton begins to testify: “It will be a long time”
Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has begun her testimony in the Epstein case before the US House of Representatives, US media report.
“This is going to be a long one,” the Republican chairman of the oversight committee, James R. Comer, told NBC on his way into the closed-door hearing.
The hearing of Clinton’s husband, former President Bill Clinton, tomorrow will be “even longer,” Comer said. He has threatened the couple with contempt of Congress to get them to appear before the committee when they previously refused to testify.
Hillary Clinton writes on X that the committee hearing is “political theater” to distract attention from President Donald Trump and demands that he testify under oath. She believes her testimony is irrelevant, because she does not even remember meeting the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Neither Hillary nor Bill Clinton have been charged with any crimes, writes the AP.
Democrats Fury Over Withheld Documents: “We Demand Answers”
Democrats on the House Oversight Committee are furious with the Trump administration after reports that documents in the Epstein investigation involving the president were withheld by the Justice Department.
“This is the biggest government cover-up in modern times. We demand answers,” the group writes on X.
NPR was first to report on the missing documents, which relate to allegations that Donald Trump sexually abused an underage girl in the 1980s. CNN and the New York Times are also reporting on the documents.
Earlier this week, the Justice Department said that the only material that has not been released is classified or duplicated material. On Wednesday night, the department said it would investigate whether documents involving the president were wrongly withheld.
