Iran: Netanyahu may have bad influence

Benjamin Netanyahu is to meet US President Donald Trump in Washington DC.

Now Iran is warning that the Israeli prime minister may have a "destructive influence".

The negotiations on the Iranian nuclear energy program are to be discussed at Wednesday's meeting between Trump and Netanyahu.

Ahead of the talks, Iran's foreign policy spokesman Esmail Baqaei emphasizes that the country is negotiating with the US.

- It is up to America to decide to act independently of the pressures and destructive influences that are harmful to the region, he says.

Negotiations between Iran and the US collapsed after Israel's attack on Iran last summer, but were resumed recently.

- The June experience was a very bad experience. Therefore, given these experiences, we are determined to secure Iran's national interests through diplomacy," Baqaei said.
