Peru's parliament votes yes - dismisses the president

The Peruvian Congress voted on Tuesday to dismiss the country's interim president José Jerí in an impeachment trial.
With 75 votes in favor and 24 against, Jerí was deemed unfit for office. Three members abstained from the vote.
The politically conservative José Jerí took over as president on October 10, after his corruption-accused predecessor Dina Boluarte was dismissed in a similar process.
Jerí is now also accused of corruption with links to China.
The next presidential election is in April. Parliament will appoint a new interim president on Wednesday for the remainder of the term, which expires on July 28.
