She is increasingly seen in public - but is still an enigma.
Now Kim Ju-Ae, daughter of North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un, is said to have been chosen as her father's successor.
The Kim dynasty has controlled North Korea for decades, and a cult of personality around the so-called Paektusan bloodline dominates everyday life and the tightly controlled state media. Kim Jong-Un is the third leader in his family and is said to have three children. The daughter, believed to be named Kim Ju-Ae, is believed to be the middle child and is estimated to be around 13 years old.
Rodman revealed
American basketball star Dennis Rodman revealed to the world that Kim Jong-Un had a daughter, when he visited North Korea in 2013 and said he had met a little girl. She was first seen in public in 2022, when she accompanied her father to an intercontinental ballistic missile launch. Since then, she has made more public appearances in connection with weapons tests, military parades and factory inaugurations.
