Russia rejects the partly Swedish findings about the death of Kremlin critic Alexei Navalnyj.

The power headquarters in Moscow claims that Navalnyj was killed by the poison epibatidine is unfounded.

– Of course, we do not accept such accusations. (...) We consider them biased and groundless, says Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, according to the AFP news agency and other media.

The assessment by experts from Sweden, France, Britain, Germany and the Netherlands came on Saturday.

“Russia claimed that Navalny died of natural causes. However, given the toxicity of epibatidine and the reported symptoms, poisoning was the most likely cause of death. Navalny died while in prison, which means that Russia had the means, motive, and opportunity to give him the poison,” according to the experts.
