Sources: UK-India free trade agreement in April

India and the UK plan to implement their free trade agreement in April 2026, sources tell the Economic Times.

The agreement gives 99 percent of Indian exports duty-free access to the UK and also means reduced tariffs on British goods such as cars and whisky.

The patent on Novo Nordisk's bestseller Ozempic has expired in Canada and will soon do so in India, which opens up for cheaper copies and tougher competition.

– When you have a patent on a drug and the patent expires, there will be a lot of pressure on the price, says Mattias Arvidsson, head of the Swedish Patent and Registration Office, to TT.

In India, prices could fall by up to 90 percent, according to CNN.
