Middle East Crisis Iran War

Sources: US embassy in Iraq attacked

Some form of attack has taken place against the US embassy in the Iraqi capital Baghdad, several sources report. However, the information about what happened differs.

According to AFP, it is a drone that hit the building, while AP reports that a rocket has hit the embassy's helipad. An AFP journalist reports that smoke is rising from the building, which images from AFP confirm.

The embassy has repeatedly been the target of rockets and drones fired by Iran-linked militias, writes TT.

Information: Russia offered to take care of Iran's uranium

Russian President Vladimir Putin is said to have suggested to the US that Iran's stockpile of enriched uranium should be brought to Russia, as part of an agreement to end the war. This is reported by Axios.

The proposal was reportedly made during a phone call with Donald Trump this week, but Trump declined, according to Axios sources.

According to the sources, Russia has proposed the same thing several times before, most recently just before the American-Israeli attack on Iran.

Iran is believed to have 450 kilograms of uranium enriched to 60 percent and which could be enriched to a weapons-grade level within a week. This is estimated to be enough for ten nuclear bombs.
