CEOs, Journalists and Cryptobros – All Reportedly Want Trump's Phone Number
The White House has received reports that Donald Trump's private phone number is being sold to individuals with deep pockets and a desire to influence the world. This is reported by sources for The Atlantic.
- It's absolutely crazy. I've heard of CEOs wanting to buy it for money and cryptobros offering cryptocurrencies, says one source.
The sources say that the number is also used as a barter item among journalists who can sometimes give out dozens of world leaders' numbers just to have Trump's saved in their phones.
Trump doesn't seem to mind this and there are reports that he leaves his iPhone with the screen facing up in meetings, so that the meeting participants can see how popular he is.
The journalists' conversations lead to Trump giving many short interviews, interviews that are sometimes contradictory. Despite this, Trump's staff welcomes the conversations and describes him as "the most open president ever."
Authority threatens media after reporting on Iran
The US agency FCC, which is responsible for broadcast media, says that media are at risk of losing their licenses due to reporting on the war on Iran. This is reported by AFP.
"Media outlets that broadcast hoaxes and distorted news - also known as Fake News - now have a chance to correct themselves before it is time to renew their licenses," writes Brendan Carr, FCC chairman, in a post on X.
In his post, Carr also has a screenshot of one of Donald Trump's posts on Truth Social that deals with what he calls false reporting.
