Trump asks for help in the war - “send ships”

Trump: Will bomb in full

Updated 16.35 | Published 16.18

Trump is urging other countries to send warships to the Strait of Hormuz.

At the same time, the president is not holding back.

“In the meantime, the United States will be bombing the coastline in full and continuously shooting Iranian boats and ships out of the water,” Trump writes on his social media platform Truth Social.

In a new statement on Truth Social, US President Donald Trump does not mince words. The president is urging several countries to send ships to the Middle East to keep the Strait of Hormuz open and safe.

“We have already destroyed 100% of Iran’s military capabilities, but it is easy for them to send a drone or two, drop a mine or fire a mine anywhere along or in this waterway, no matter how badly defeated they are,” Trump writes on Truth Social.

Bomb the coastline

Trump mentions China, France, Japan, South Korea, the UK as countries he hopes will send ships to the area.

“In the meantime, the United States will bomb the coastline to fully and continuously push Iranian boats and ships out of the water. One way or another, we will soon have the Strait of Hormuz OPEN, SAFE and FREE!”.

None of the countries mentioned have responded or agreed to Trump’s wish.

“Lies”

Ali Bahrani, who is Iran’s envoy in Geneva, says in a statement that Trump’s statements about destroying Iran’s military capabilities are “made up lies.”

The blockade of the Strait of Hormuz has had major consequences as about 20 percent of the world's oil and gas is usually transported through the Strait of Hormuz. The blockade has also triggered oil prices and affected the stock market.
