The US naval blockade against Iran is "piracy".
According to Iran, the reason is that the US has not fulfilled its promises according to the agreement between the countries, Iranian media reports.
"Therefore, the Strait of Hormuz is now closed again and passage requires Iran's approval," the military states according to state-run Irib.
It was yesterday that Iran and the US announced that the Strait of Hormuz had been opened to all commercial ships, after a ceasefire came into effect between Israel and Lebanon.
The demand on the US
However, the naval blockade against Iran would continue to apply "in full force", wrote US President Donald Trump in a post shortly later.Iran then threatened to close the strait again - which has now become a reality.
"Until the US restores complete freedom of navigation for vessels of Iranian origin to a destination, and from a destination back to Iran, the situation in the Strait of Hormuz will remain strictly controlled and unchanged", announced the Iranian military headquarters Khatam al-Anbiya.
