Trump's Hormuz tariff could be 290 million per ship
Donald Trump's demand for a tariff of 20 percent of the value of the cargo for ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz would mean 12 to 15 million dollars per ship loaded with liquefied natural gas (LNG). This corresponds to around 115 to 145 million kronor. TT writes, citing calculations made by the analysis company Kpler.
For a supertanker filled with crude oil, the tariff would be even higher, around 30 million dollars, corresponding to around 290 million kronor, per ship.
Trump's tariff demands are still unclear. There are no concrete details about who will pay, who will collect the money or who will take coercive measures to collect the fees.
Iran has previously offered passage through the strait for 1-2 million dollars per ship, corresponding to around 10 to 20 million kronor.

The fossil of the Tyrannosaurus rex “Gus” was found with a rancher named Gary “Gus” Licking in South Dakota in 2021.
The previous record for a dinosaur fossil sale was set in 2024 when a Stegosaurus went for the equivalent of 470 million kronor, writes TT.
