Lukashenko: War to end within a few months

Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko claims that the war in Ukraine will be over within a few months.

The statement was made during a security conference in Minsk, according to the state-run Belarusian news agency Belta.

"The war in Ukraine will be over within a few months. That is my personal view. Everyone is exhausted, there are no resources left, everyone is tired," said Lukashenko.

The president further claimed that peace could have been achieved as early as 2022, blaming Western nations for the fact that this opportunity was "lost."

Lukashenko also warned of the consequences should the war continue.

"If we do not stop this, but instead continue on the path of escalation, we will almost certainly end up in a Third World War."
