Tropical Storm Hilary has now reached the western United States.
In the state of Nevada, there is a risk of "potentially historic amounts of rain", writes CNN.
Tropical Storm Hilary made landfall last night over northeastern Mexico, where one person has been reported dead after drowning.
During the night, the storm has moved north towards the United States.
During Monday morning, it reached further into the state of California with power outages and flooding as a result. Several rain records have been broken, according to the US National Weather Service.

Later in the day, according to CNN, Hilary will reach the state of Nevada where there may be "potentially historic amounts of rain".
“The areas that don't normally get flash floods will be flooded. Lives and property are at great risk on Monday," it says on the authority's website.
