Ukraine: Sweden is preparing one of its largest aid packages

One of Sweden's largest aid packages to date is on its way to Ukraine, writes Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov on X. The package is said to include, for example, air defense and radar systems from Saab, as well as drones for long-range attacks, writes Pravda.

Fedorov's post was written on Sunday afternoon after a meeting with Swedish Defense Minister Pål Jonson (M).

Sweden has not commented on the upcoming aid package and it is not clear when it will be presented. On Tuesday, Pål Jonson will hold a joint press conference with Denmark's Defense Minister, but it is unclear what it will be about.

Five arrested in Germany for large-scale Russian smuggling

Five people have been arrested in northern Germany on suspicion of having carried out 16,000 smuggled deliveries to Russia, including to 24 different arms companies, in violation of sanctions. The German prosecutor's office announced this on Monday, Bild reports.

The goods are estimated to have been worth at least 30 million euros, equivalent to 317 million kronor at today's exchange rate.

The smuggling, which is suspected of having gone to the Russian Defense Ministry, is believed to have been ongoing since the beginning of the war, according to Deutsche Welle. The suspicion is that Russian authorities are behind the network.

The men were arrested in Lübeck. Raids were carried out simultaneously in several other German cities.
