Donald Trump has shifted focus from Greenland to Canada.

But Danish defense politician Rasmus Jarlov is not breathing his last yet.

- Get rid of as much American as you can that this man can use to blackmail you, he says.

Danish member of parliament and chairman of the defense committee Rasmus Jarlov was himself involved in deciding on the purchase of American F-35 fighter jets.

After Donald Trump entered the White House, he has regretted it.

And when As the US president threatens 50% tariffs on Canada, which he claims did not issue proper certificates for US Gulfstream jets, he sends a message to European countries:

“Sorry we did it”

“This is exactly why countries should not buy F-35s. I am sorry we did it. Get rid of as much American as you can that this man can use to blackmail you,” writes Jarlov, who represents the conservative People’s Party, on X.

When asked what to buy instead, Jarlov says:

“We should buy European. Europe is the only honest and reliable major player in the world.”

Jarlov has previously expressed regret over the purchase of the F-35 aircraft and warned that they could have a built-in “kill switch” that would cause them to stop working if the Pentagon decides to deactivate them.

“Willing to do enormous damage”

He also believes that the aircraft could become unusable if the US stops sending spare parts to EU countries, which he believes will strengthen Russia and weaken Europe.

“They have shown that they are willing to do enormous damage to peaceful and loyal allies like Canada just because they insist on existing as a country.”

The US has hit back at the reports, claiming that there is no “kill switch.”
